Actor Avinash Divakar recently made his small screen debut with the new television serial "Nanna Devaru." In a conversation with Bangalore Times, he discusses his foray into television, the lessons he has learned, and his thoughts on how the Kannada film industry can navigate challenging times.
"I must admit that I have never been a dedicated viewer of television shows. However, I embraced the opportunity to portray Sachidananda in 'Nanna Devaru' as a means to keep myself occupied as an actor. Typically, TV serials center around a female lead, but in this family drama, my character plays a pivotal role in driving the storyline," says Avinash, commending television creators for their thoughtful approach. "They follow a precise formula, from the pre-production stage to filming, to ensure that the core content and central characters resonate with a diverse audience. Their preparedness for each episode is crucial in sustaining the longevity of soap operas," he adds.
"We need to captivate audiences with a consistent stream of compelling films to encourage movie theater attendance," shares Avinash, who is preparing to helm his directorial debut, a historical drama titled "Rudrankusha." "In a landscape saturated with content on social media and mobile devices, we face the challenge of providing cinematic experiences that stand out from other platforms," he notes.
